KMS June 5-June 22, 2017
8:00 AM - 11:15AM and 11:50 AM - 3:00 PM
Teachers work 15 minutes prior to their first class and 15 minutes after their last class.
Computer Coding and Robotics Level I (8:00-11:15)
This class leverages the excitement of robotics combined with project-based activities to teach the design process. Students will be challenged to problem solve and use critical thinking skills to design, program, develop, and test their robots throughout the course. Knowledge of Visual Programming is desired and a willingness to learn about Ozobot robots is required.
Virtual Explorations (11:50-3:00)
In this course, students will solve real-world problems using Google Expeditions. We are looking for teachers who have experience with or are willing to learn about Google Expeditions.
Textiles and Technology (June 5--8, 8:00-11:15)
This course enables students to learn or review basic sewing fundamentals while also incorporating technology applications. This course explores the popular trend of “upcycling” clothing or textile items into new products. In addition, students will be introduced to basic e e-textile projects that blend creativity and craftsmanship with electronics and simple programming. Experience with or a willingness to learn about e-textiles is required.
Music and Digital Design (June12-15, 11:50-3:00)
This course allows students to explore music with more modern ensemble settings. Students will advance skills they already possess while focusing on improvisation and composition. Students will improvise and compose music with the aid of electronic devices. Experience with Garage Band required.
