Position Summary: Kitchen helper in day-to-day operations within the kitchen to ensure a quality breakfast and lunch program for Middle School student body and faculty.
9:00 am - 3:30 pm
- Under minimal supervision independently performs cooking duties in preparing food items to be served to students and staff.
- Reads recipes, and keep records in order to accurately executed planned plan production requirements
- Assists in ensuring a safe working environment throughout the facility for all employees, using HACCP, temperature (milk, freezer, refrigerator, line box) logs, reports to Production Manager any service requests and work orders in a timely manner.
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment and must follow all Sodexo, Millard Public School, and regulatory rules and procedures.
- Ensure all pertinent information is on the all production reports.
- Perform all duties as assigned by Porduction manager or Lead
Knowledge and Skills:
- Applies cooking skills. Adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the requirements of the position. Working knowledge of food preparation.
- Applies knowledge of department policies and procedures, and utilizes a general understanding of other departments’ functions.
- Ability to effectively communicate procedures in a manner easily understood by other staff members.
Requirements:
- Education or Equivalent Experience: High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent experience
- Function Specific Experience: Preferable, 1 or more years of related work experience (K-12) or have had experience in institutional cooking involved with the most complex requirements of the position

- Physical Demands: Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work , such as dexterity, long periods of standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 40 pounds or more
