Title: Van Driver
Reports to: Transportation Manager
General Summary: Transports students to and from school.
Essential Functions:
- Drives a van to transport students to and from school by prescribed route in a safe and courteous manner. (90%)
- Performs daily inspection of van and maintains appropriate records. (5%)
- Maintains the cleanliness of van. (5%)
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education Level: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification or Licensure: * Valid Nebraska Driver's License and a good driving record.
* Nebraska Van Driver's Permit, Level-I and Level-II Certificates.
* Must be age 21 or above.
- Experience desired: Experience driving large motorized vehicles with a safe driving record.
(One year successful experience as driver preferred).
- Other requirements: * Work overtime as required.
* Successful completion of State Level-I and Level-II School Bus training, first aid,
and CPR training.
* Ability to control the behavior of children while operating vehicle.
* Ability to maintain vehicles through washing, vacuuming, and general service.
* Ability to communicate well with others and use a short-wave radio.
* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and
others.
Preferred: * Complete knowledge of the district operated transportation service
* Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
