Summer is just around the corner, and although food service in general still looks a bit different, MPS Food Service forges ahead to feed our kids and community after the school year ends. Hourly wage: $12 - 13.50

Central Middle School - Boys & Girls Club and curbside feeding
North High School - curbside feeding
Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (Kids Net) or 1:30 p.m. (other sites)
In general, summer food service tapers off and ends before the 2021-2022 school year begins in August.
Essential Functions:
- Perform assigned duties associated with the preparation of meals. Cook and bake food, prepare individual portions, and perform other food preparation duties as assigned.
- Clean and sanitize utensils, dishes, appliances, machines, and other equipment. Perform general cleaning duties in the kitchen.
- Perform miscellaneous food service duties as assigned
- Serve prepared food to students and the community
- Adjust to change in a dynamic environment, maintaining productivity while handling other essential tasks as assigned
- Interact positively with students, staff, coworkers, and the community
- Follow all safety protocols including maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitization; and following pandemic guidelines including wearing proper PPE and adhering to social distancing requirements at all times.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Experience in high volume food preparation and serving is desired. School kitchen experience is preferred.
- Required upon hire to take Food Handlers Class within 30 days of employment
- Other requirements:
- - Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and others
- - Ability and willingness to follow work instructions in all areas of food service and maintain a positive attitude toward the food service program.
- - Ability to report to work on time and notify manager at the earliest possible time when unable to work
