Description:
Norris Elementary School is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Literacy Development Paraprofessional. This role is part of a new initiative aimed at enhancing literacy skills by providing in-class support to small groups of readers. In this role, you will work alongside teachers to support K-5 students' reading development within the classroom. Ideal candidates are invested in student growth, eager to expand their own skills in literacy instruction, and excited to collaborate with colleagues to help students succeed.
You will have a direct impact on student literacy by guiding small groups through targeted reading exercises, monitoring their progress, and supporting their journey as confident, capable readers. As a valued member of our literacy team, you’ll also participate in ongoing professional development focused on effective literacy strategies, ensuring you are equipped to make a lasting difference in students' reading success.
Days/Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Start Date: Anytime after January 6th
